Norton City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. This delay will provide additional time for our buildings to warm and for us to address a few heating issues encountered today. Congratulations! Raider Robotics won the “Judges Choice” award at the competition in Charlottesville the week of November 25, 2024. This award recognizes a team whose “unique efforts, performance, or dynamics merit recognition but does not fall into the traditional awards category.” Raider robotics were recognized for their “commitment to travel the distance to Charlottesville and their willingness to assist other teams throughout the competition.” Gina Wohlford, Ph.D.

Norton City Schools has been working closely with Emergency Management. We are pleased to report that power has been restored throughout the Norton City community, and both internet and phone services are operational at our schools. To ensure a safe commute and allow additional time for any remaining challenges, Norton City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Our priority is the safety of students and staff, and we will continue to monitor the conditions closely to maintain the best possible environment. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate the recovery process together.

Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and the ongoing power outages for some of our outlying areas, as well as internet and phone service instability, Norton City Schools will be closed on September 30, 2024. This closure will allow us to thoroughly evaluate our schools and ensure the safest environment possible for our students and staff. We will be providing pick-up meals to students and children in the community at Norton Elementary and Middle School from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM on September 30th. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to recover from this situation.
