Dear Families and Division Employees,
As we have returned to school following the impact of Hurricane Helene and will begin our 2nd nine weeks on October 7, 2024, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for your resilience during this challenging time. We are truly blessed in Norton, and I’m reminded of the strength and positivity our community has shown.
I’d like to offer a special thanks to our emergency workers within the city whose dedication kept us safe, and to our incredible school employees—especially our food service and custodial teams—who ensured that students received meals and that our schools were kept secure during the storm.
Your continued support is deeply appreciated as we move forward together. Let’s remain positive and focus on the blessings we share as a community. #RaiderStrong
REMINDER: Early Dismissal October 4, 2024 @ 12:30 for students.
Sincerely,

Norton City Schools has been working closely with Emergency Management. We are pleased to report that power has been restored throughout the Norton City community, and both internet and phone services are operational at our schools.
To ensure a safe commute and allow additional time for any remaining challenges, Norton City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Our priority is the safety of students and staff, and we will continue to monitor the conditions closely to maintain the best possible environment.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate the recovery process together.

Due to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and the ongoing power outages for some of our outlying areas, as well as internet and phone service instability, Norton City Schools will be closed on September 30, 2024. This closure will allow us to thoroughly evaluate our schools and ensure the safest environment possible for our students and staff.
We will be providing pick-up meals to students and children in the community at Norton Elementary and Middle School from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM on September 30th.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work to recover from this situation.

Norton City Schools will be closed today, Friday, September 27th.

Important Update: Hurricane Helene Weather Advisory

As a precaution, Norton City Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, September 27, to allow additional time to assess weather conditions in the morning. This will help us make the safest possible decision for our students.
We encourage all families to stay informed and continue following local news and updates from the City of Norton. For further information regarding hurricane preparations, please refer to the City of Norton's Public Service Announcement, available on their website and social media platforms.
